Craftsmanship

HAND DRAPING: Before a garment becomes a pattern, it begins as fabric on a dress form. Through hand draping, we shape, pin, adjust, and refine the fabric directly on the body, allowing movement and silhouette to emerge naturally. This process can take hours, but it creates garments that feel fluid, intentional, and alive.

  • RUCHING allows a flat piece of fabric to become something dimensional. Creating that effect requires careful placement, repeated adjustments, and an understanding of how different fabrics respond to tension and movement. No shortcuts, no automated gathering. Just fabric, hands, and time.
  • PLEATING is a highly specialized couture technique where folded fabric designs are meticulously shaped, pinned, and hand-tacked onto a tailor’s mannequin or dummy before being stitched. This form of draping allows designers to control volume, rhythm, and structural geometry.

LOCAL CUSTOMISATION- Trims/ Fabrics

Our Trims/fabrics are dyed locally and finished in small batches, allowing for greater attention to detail and quality control. From final pressing and edge finishing to garment inspection, much of the work is completed by hand. These finishing touches may not always be visible, but they are what give a garment its character, longevity, and sense of care.

HATH CHAPA/ TURPAI

Many of our details are created by hand, one fold at a time. Using traditional chapa techniques, folds are temporarily secured and refined before stitching, ensuring every drape falls exactly as intended. Turpai is one of the quietest forms of craftsmanship. Often hidden from view, it involves hand-finishing sections of a garment with precision and care, creating clean interiors and refined details that help preserve both structure and longevity.
